ABOUT US

Ghost River Outfitters was founded in the spring of 2004 by long-time friends, Mark Babb and Don Haley.  For years Mark and Don worked together for the Collierville Fire Department, taking advantage of every day off by exploring the Ghost River section the Wolf River.

Tour group

Now we enjoy helping others
discover the same river.

The business has grown and now we are proud to help our friends from the Wilburn family, Wolf River Conservancy, Bluff City Canoe Club, and SUPAS get folks out on the Ghost River to see for themselves the majesty of a river that lies at the heart of our community.

OUR TEAM

Ghost River Rentals has been in operation since 2004. We began this venture by accompanying friends and family on guided river tours and supplying them with our extra canoes and kayaks. These trips have been on the most sections of the Wolf River, the Hatchie River and the Mississippi River. Since then, we have had people from all over the world and walks of life use our services to get out on the Ghost River.

Ghost Section

August 10, 2019

The Ghost Section exhibits some of the  the last natural landscape of its’ kind.  Many people associate the “Wolf River” with the channelized downstream waterway coarsing through the heart of Memphis.   This is not the case for the pristine waters of the Ghost Section and Upper Wolf River.  From Baker’s pond in Holly Springs National forest a birth of playful, cascading river emerges from a spring.  Amusedly meandering its way to the Ghost Section one will find an almost forgotten forest ecosystem.  Boasting a high-water mark, the solemn cypress trees stand motionless in a never-ending placid pool.  Accompanied by the…
